Mary Magdalene

This was my very first oil painting as a 16 year old boy. The image depicts the “woman caught in adultery” from the Bible. She was “caught in the very act of prostitution, by the self righteous religious leaders of her day” they brought her to Jesus assuming he would not be able to show compassion and love, but would be forced to condone their sentence of stoning her. Once again his love compassion and forgiveness shined brighter than their self righteous judgment condemnation and public shaming!!  I really hope this image and the truth of His love will help someone out there today. Help you realize that we don’t have the right to judge the actions of our fellow man or condemn them, no matter the offense! Only our creator has the right, and because of Jesus he chooses love and forgiveness. I hope you choose the same.
